Dr. Boitnott's principal area of interest is liver disease with an associated interest in disease of the biliary tract and pancreas. Most of his  work involves collaborative clinico-pathologic studies. Areas in which there are now particularly good opportunities for such studies at Johns Hopkins include: liver transplants, bone marrow transplants, hepatic neoplasms, Budd-Chiari syndrome, sclerosing cholangitis, bile duct carcinomas and pancreatic carcinomas.
