Dr. Robert E. Miller is a Board-certified anatomic and clinical pathologist with extensive experience in the development, implementation and operation of laboratory, pathology and clinical information systems. His particular areas of expertise and interest include secure web-based tools for patient data reporting, integration of heterogeneous clinical information systems, and quantitative assessment of user query software.
Dr. John K. Boitnott has primary interest in liver disease with associated interest in disease of the biliary tract and pancreas. Most of Dr. Boitnott's work involves collaborative clinico-pathologic studies. Areas in which there are now particularly good opportunities for such studies at Johns Hopkins include: liver transplants, bone marrow transplants, hepatic neopolasms, Budd-Chiari syndrome, sclerosing cholangitis, bile duct carcinomas and pancreatic carcinomas.
Dr. Merwyn G. Taylor has worked on a variety of information storage technologies. These technologies include proprietary storage objects used in the Army Research Lab's Digital Battlefield, the University of Maryland's ParkaDB knowledge representation system, and the Johns Hopkins Hospital Pathology Clinical Data Repository based on Oracle RDBMS technology. Dr. Taylor has been the lead developer of the Oracle based data warehouse at Hopkins and software that aggregates and analyzes point of care laboratory data. |
