Jerry was a man whose life was cut short by Esophageal Cancer. To some of us Jerry was our son, father, brother or business partner, but to all of us he was a great friend. How do we introduce Jerry to you? He was a successful businessman who always demanded the most of himself. This can be said in all aspects of his life. He was a wonderful father who raised 3 children and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He was a terrific son who provided for his mother and treated her very well. As a brother he was always a shoulder to lean on. He was there when he was needed without fail. We couldn’t help him conquer this disease and it broke our hearts.
Jerry was a wonderful person who is sorely missed by all who knew him. He was diagnosed with this terrible disease, Esophageal Cancer, in November of 2004. He suffered through radiation treatments, chemotherapy and surgery.
We are sad to report that on July 25, 2005 he lost the battle, which is the reason for this event. We do not want anyone to have to suffer the way he did. We would like to help prevent any family from the misery we felt during his illness as well as today. In a spirit of hope to others facing this devastating disease and as a tribute to the great person Jerry was, all net proceeds from this event will be donated to the Johns Hopkins Esophageal Cancer Research Center in Jerry’s name. Please help make this a success by joining us and/or making a donation to the Jerry D’Amato Charity Foundation. We promise an enjoyable day!
Thank you!
The family and friends of Jerry D'Amato, Jr.
