Introduction

Welcome to our Web site!!!  We hope you will find it both educational and enjoyable.  We constantly strive to improve this site.  Constructive feedback, both positive and negative, is encouraged and appreciated.
This Web site is an introduction to the Master Class - "Mastering the Challenges of Cytopathology".  It is a part of the "Home Study" and is complementary to the manuscripts you have received.  At the end, five unknown cases are presented with brief clinical histories.  Please write down your diagnoses on a sheet of paper with your name on it and label it "Unknown Cases".  Bring your answer sheet with you to the course on the first day.  These cases will be discussed by the faculty (along with your active participation) during the course.
Also, before the course begins, please make sure to complete the pre-test.  The pre-test consists of 35 multiple choice questions.  Each question is associated with an image.  Please mark the correct answer on the answer sheet form which was mailed to you.  Bring this completed answere sheet form with you to the course on the first day so that they can be collected.
WARNING:  As a reminder, all images in this Web site are copyrighted and cannot be downloaded without the express written consent of The Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions and the Editor-in-Chief.  Please treat these images as you would any other copywritten material.  To protect our copyrighted images we have employed digital watermarking technology with the help of the Digimarc company.  Digital watermarking technology is analogous in many ways to the watermarks found in high quality letterhead.  The digital watermark is invisible to the naked eye, yet it is embedded seamlessly into each image thousands of time.  Unlike simple written copyright notices found on many Web images, the digital watermark can not be deleted using conventional image modification software (such as Adobe photoshop).  Visit Digimarc at www.digimarc.com to learn more.
