Peter C. Burger, MD, Director
Dr. Burger is a Professor of Pathology, of Neurosurgery and of Oncology, and is one of the world's leading authorities on tumors of the central nervous system.
He is co-author of the AFIP Atlas of Tumor Pathology, Tumors of the Central Nervous System, and has authored two major textbooks in central nervous system tumors. He has over 20 years experience and more than 200 publications. Currently, he is chairman of the Pathology Review Committee of the Pediatric Oncology Group. He is a member of the editorial boards of two leading peer-review journals and participates in numerous scientific committees, including New Approaches to Brain Tumor Therapy Consortium and World Health Organization Histological Typing of Tumors of the Central Nervous System. Dr. Burger personally oversees all diagnostic evaluations sent to the service.
